Managing Director
Staar Escapes

I am Steve and I love this part of the world ever since holidaying in the area with my parents from Hertfordshire several times when I was young, most notably a 2 week holiday staying in Dawlish! It was always very likely I would end up making South Devon my permanent home so I started frequenting the area having met my partner who was living in Shaldon in 2015. After renting several properties I have now settled in Teignmouth and have been investing in property in South Devon together with my two children Aaron and Amberley.

Built in the 1850’s for Royal Naval Captain Philpotts who was one of the children of the Bishop of Exeter whose original residence became the Palace Hotel, recently demolished. It is representative of the lavish Victorian development along the South Devon coast at the time and was also home to Dallas Cairns who was involved here in the 1920’s as a film studio for silent films and also by Sir Betram Mackennal, an Australian Sculptor who was famous for designing the head of King George V on coinage and stamps.
